Sabado

Today was quite a day! I got to sleep in, until 7:45. There is no circle on Saturday mornings. Circle is morning devotional. I helped organize the medical clinic. It was quite a job. We had to go through all of the donations that have been sent in and organize it according to it's proper usage. We also did a top to bottom cleaning of the whole clinic, along with alphabetizing all of the kids' medical files. I ate lunch at the restaurant today, and had a nice, big helping of potatoes and rice. It was so good. After lunch, some authentic, traditional, Honduran dancers did a show for all the the children, except for the boys. They were not really in to it. It was pretty cool, and all of the girls loved it. After the dance I organized hospital cards. It didn't take too long. We ate dinner with some of the boys. It is always an experience. Tonight, I got to see two big boys fight. In the end, one had a severe bloody nose and the other one just walked away. Boys will be boys. Church is tomorrow. It starts at nine. However, in Honduras that could mean 8:45 or 9:15. It is always best to be there early. More and more girls are wearing pants this year. One of my favorite kids from last year, know as "El Presidente", because of the speeches he likes to give on the playgrounds and because his real name is that of the old Honduras president, is not talking. He came from a very bad background. All of a sudden he has stopped talking. The staff here said it has happened before, but not for this long. It is sad. You can talk to him and he will make facial expressions, but that is about it. He is still definitely famous around the orphanage though. There are more and more kids from Roaton this year. It is always neat to talk with them in English, and since our Spanish is at about the same level. Yesterday a plane crashed flying into the Tegucigalpa airport. It was all the talk here. It hasn't happened in eleven years. Thank goodness I got here ok. Taking off is much less of a problem than landing. I love you all!

I have a few pictures up! Here is the address to view them:

Hey - I am glad you updated - sounds like you had a very busy day/ Any torsolos yet or do they come after the rainy season is over. I am so SAD to hear about "El Presidente" - do they think that some type of trauma caused his regression. I know that his life is so much happier there than it was in his past. Maybe a trip to the Tienda would help. Do you remember how excited he was last year when Mr. Jack took him there? Isn't Wilmer from Roatan? Why are so many children coming from there? I remember last year that I thought I would lose weight while at the orphanage but not the case with all those good carbs - rice and potatos huh!!! Wow the fight sounds exciting - did they tell you they were just playing?? What kind of punishment did they receive? I think my very favorite thing about our trip last year was worshipping with them in church. I remember tears filling my eyes because the joy was overwhelming and the way they praise God is incredible. I was so blessed to be a part of that. I hope you have a fantastic Lord's Day with them all in that beautiful church.I love you and miss you.

Hi Hopey:

Thanks so much for all of the blogs! It is a great way to keep up with all of the things that you are doing. As you can imagine, your trip is a frequent topic of conversation around the house and everywhere we go. We share the blogspot and email with everybody so that they can keep up with you. Grandma Barb and Grandpa Jack were excited to get the information. It was great to see a few photos-brings back a lot of memories. Was Oscar in the group (he may have grown so much that I did not recognize him)? Mom mentioned that you have seen Gabriel-please tell him that I look forward to seeing him soon.
It is sad about "El Presidente"-maybe you can help him. Wasn't he like that for the first few years he was at the orphanage?

I know that Davis would like to chat or blog with you. He misses you a lot! Will try to set him up today. Have a great day of worship and rest. It is great to see God working out His will through your life. Miss you and love you.

Hey Hope!
Yesterday was quite an adventure. I helped holly beth rollerskate and cooked a bunch. Last night i went to PJ's and the park befor seeing a movie with Stuart. When you get back, remind me not to let you watch "Baby Mama" because it was one of the worst movies ive ever seen. Im so sad to hear about El Presidente. Do you have any idea when he'll be better? Will you check if you have the chance and see if Luz is still there? Im pretty possitive she is. Im sure you aren't sure yet, but make me a list of anything you want or need me to bring you. I was brainstorming of how to bring you some TCBY, but its seemign pretty impossible. Im heading back home today :P I think Ank is gonna pick me up in Mobile, and then straight back to Auburn with me. As soon as youre home we need to talk Mom and Dad into letting us take a road trip down here to see Mona. Their pool house is AMAZING! i said it looked like something off Cribs> but hart didnt even know what i meant. Youre jsut gonna have to come see it for yourself. I love you! EMAIL ME!

Good Morning, Hopey,
Well it's official. The large rubber tree plant (in your living room last winter) is your mom and dad's! Anky and I got all of our plants from your home and Demeda's greenhouse, thinking it was long overdue to take them back. I never realized that they really wanted to have it. Almost immediately upon unloading it on our front porch, I knew that it was so large (around) that I could not keep it. So yesterday it made the journey, in our van, right back to it's new permanent home.

Must run. We are going to Destin today for a quick visit with all of the Bordelon family and to bring Katsie back home.Wish you could come with us, but I know you are loving being there.

Lots of Love from both humans, the furry and the feathery at 507.xoxo

Buenos dias, Hope.
I look forward every day to reading your blog (yours and all the comments). I know you are working hard, and it is nice that you take time to let everyone know what's going on. The pictures are great. The one with the pink building viewed through the arch is quite artistic. We're about to leave to meet the Bordelons and Katelyn in Destin. We'll spend the night and come back to Auburn early tomorrow. I think it is about 3 1/2 hours. We'll see. Tomorrow i start back at TSA. Samiko's husband James (28 years old) had a mild stroke while playing basketball the other evening. He is still in EAMC, where they found that he was born with a heart defect that has never been diagnosed until now. Were you able to read my fractured Spanish? Love.
