Today started bright and early as usual. I played with the special needs yard for a while this morning. Bubbles are a big hit! They love them. I was the time delegator, after five minutes, they had to switch to someone else who hadn't had a turn. It actually worked, and they shared quite, well with no spilled bubbles. I worked in the school, also. We had probably two hundred spiral notebooks that we had to take the paper out of and make stacks for various classes. It took a little while. We made flashcards with clocks and times, for the children to match. We also made flashcards with syllables on them for the children to practice spelling their words. Today, Simon, a seven year old, was called to write something on the board during school and decided he didn't want to do it, so he wet his pants. He had to pick up trash around the school for the rest of the day. He was not too happy about it. I was asked to play soccer again today, but I turned down that offer. I can't believe they even asked me to be on their team. What a joke! They must think it is funny to watch me play. For lunch, I had a bowl of ramen noodles, and two cinnamon, sugar, peanut butter tortillas. It was so good! It is starting to rain again here. It looks like it is going to storm. Last night was the first night since I have been here that I slept ok. It was a great feeling waking up this morning and not feel exhausted. For dinner, I ate with the toddler house. Glenda makes some of the best tortillas. I had two, huge ones, and am completely stuffed. I ended up with beans all over me, even though I didn't eat any, thanks to Oscar. He also managed to change my watch to army time, and I have finally figured out how to change it back. Some of the older girls are watching a movie tonight as a treat. I love you and miss you all!

Hope, it sounds as if you are having a great time! I can't wait to be there, and hope that I get some time with the special needs children. You know they are my favorite! I do love all children, special needs or not! :) I really enjoy reading your blog. Sorry I haven't commented a lot. I usually read at work and don't have time to post a comment. But I do read and look forward everyday to checking for new posts. I love you. Take care.
The Bubble Delegator - not at all a suprise to me - you are sooo bossy = but bubble switching is a very important job and somebody has to take charge and do it! Simon - Merrette's Simon??? Picking up trash - a little harsh don't you think. HA HA
I am loving that they asked you to play soccer again - I bet you are right -they were looking for another good laugh weren't they. That's OK Hopey - not everyone can be good at everything and I think it is so mature of you to name the fact that soccer may not be your strongest sport. I was thinking about sports that you are good at - well..... I know you like to play basketball - but... wait Ive got it - you like to fish - I bet you can consider that a sport. And then there are WII games - but unfortunately you have received injuries in the past while participating in that sport - remember - when you threw your arm out playing the carnival wii game where you try to make the ball hit the bell at the top of the tall scale - I laughed sooooo hard. And then there is the ever popular sport of Shopping - now thats a sport no one can top you at and possibly your most favorite sport. But keep on trying at the Honduran sport of Soccer - a good laugh at your expense won't hurt you a bit - and I think you have learned over the past while that laughing at yourself - can be lots of fun too! Take it from me -
Back to your diet - I was in hopes that you ventured out of your comfort zone and tried a big ole bit of that nasty grotesque looking bloody thing in your picture. Please tell me you did. Ramen Noodles sounds a bit American to me. Oscar just can't keep his hands off of you can he? - If he is not kissing you then he's putting beans on you - the love affair with the cutest Toddler ever continues huh. One look from Oscar last year and you were hooked for life and then to top it off he made it his mission to give you so many kisses.
No need to worry about time girl - not until you come back to the REAL World in a few weeks. Are you watching a chick flick - a scary movie or some adventure.
Tell Dunia that her Alabama mommy says I love her for letting you take a picture of her for me. Tell her I said she is beautiful and I can't wait to give her a big hug. I love you - I am proud of you and I am so thankful that God has given you such a servant's heart, a sweet spirit and a love for all of his children. I am sending so much love your way tonight in my thoughts and my prayer. I love you.
I am hoping you had another great night of sleep. Did you have any sweet dreams???
Dear Hope, Sorry I have missed a day or two without sending a message. We so enjoy your entries each day.
I am so proud of Anky! He is keeping to the strict schedule he created for himself (before going back as interim). He hopes to finish the ad today for the Atlanta, Montgomery, Columbus, and local papers. He's hoping for better candidate responses from the large city papers.
We saw Judy yesterday for the first time in almost two months. She spent the night here last night on her way to her 50th high school reunion in Mobile, AL. Charles is flying directly from New York City to Mobile to join her. He was in NY for a business meeting. They will drive back through for a short visit on Sunday, on their way back to Atlanta.
Katsie, Davis, and perhaps Megan (Katsie's good friend) are going to spend the weekend with us. Anky and I are hoping to help your mom get some down time by herself. She gets so little time for herself. But she does want to see the 2nd movie from the Narnia series with us tomorrow. Selfishly I wish you could go with us also.
It is HOT here, with NO rain. We had 1/2 cord of firewood delivered several days ago, so it will be there and ready for us to have fires in our fireplace next fall and winter. It may seem strange to get it now, but we want to be ready. We really missed having fires when we lived on Pine St.
Must run for now.
Much, Much Love from your "wild and crazy" GRAND mother, CIS xoxox
Tweetsie is on the computer keyboard helping me type, and Sweetie Pie is sitting on the desk, to the right of the keyboard watching our progress (and Tweetsie)! They send their love!!!
