La Tienda
I went to one of the younger girl's circle this morning. It is probably my favorite. We sang a song about a frog this morning, and many more. I had pancakes and a granola bar for breakfast. I am getting quite good at making pancakes, out of a box. We took three girls to the store this morning, Jessy, Sophia, and Dunia. We had drinks, ice cream, and bon bons. We all came back to the volunteer house and I cut up mangoes for the girls. I just don't like mangoes, but everyone here thinks I am crazy. On the way to the store, we got chased by about twenty cows. Someone cows from town got into the orphanage, and some of the boys had to chase them away. It definitely scared the little girls. I helped in the clinic this morning, with the special needs girls. It was quite eventful. We had to tell them we were going to go tell Mommy and Poppy if they didn't behave. They were acting crazy. The team that is here now, leaves tomorrow. Tonight, there is no church. Once a month or so, on Wednesdays, they have like a youth group for the older kids in the gym. There is food and snacks, and kind of just like a big party. It will be fun. The government came yesterday. They were very nice, and said the orphanage looked great. We should be getting some new toddlers soon. It is so exciting! Usually when the officials come, they try to find something wrong, but not this time. It rained here a little last night. It was a very pretty, clear day. It wasn't that hot, so it was very nice. Hopefully, it will rain here tonight. I love and miss you all!

Did the song use the word sappo or frog - I am wondering about a devotional song with the word frog in it. You will have to teach me.
Cooking from a box still counts as cooking. - That is a great start for you. You come from a family that LOVES to cook and and EAT - so genetically you are predestined to be a good COOK. (ha ha ) Keep trying!
I always liked the word lollipops better than suckers - and the word bon bons is almost as good as lollipops and the kids there love them like the kids here don't they. Mrs. Sophia has been filling a bowl on her desk with lollipops and the kids file in everyday to get their daycare "bon bons". Gummies are still popular - but those lollipops bring some mighty big smiles too!
20 cows - are there really "mad cows" there - all of your cow incidents to this point are beginning to sound like a bad dream or an episode of the old TV show twilight zone! You better watch out and don't be caught saying MOO! Got to run -may add more thoughts later. Love you!!!
HOPEY!

hey, Hope,
Sorry that I haven't been here for a while to leave you a message. It's really fun to read your blog to learn a different life in another country (I will be doing that in 2 years... will you read Leo's blog? ^_^).
It's really touching to read these comments from your friends and especially your dad and mom. Even though your mom complains about you from time to time (that's right, Holly!), there is no doubt that they LOVE you VERY MUCH!!!!
Enjoy the rest of your journey! you should publish a photo book about this trip!
Hi Hope: Typing this on Thursday morning...thinking of you on a city bus to Teguc. I hope you take plenty of pictures (and of course get some souvenirs and snacks). Is there a city bus from San Pedro Sula to Guimaca (you know who I am asking this for!). I wonder if we might be able to do a similar thing when we come (but probably not enough time).
Those pancakes sound great (I am hungry and it is breakfast time)! I don't remember eating many last year, but maybe we did. Enjoyed hearing more about Jessy. Thanks for telling me which picture in the photo album is her (#21). Really look forward to meeting her!
I am picturing the cows running through the orphanage after you. Could possibly be a show on the Discovery Channel? Or better yet, a "you tube" video!
You will have to post a blog today about how the party went last night. I'll bet it was a lot of fun...I don't think they get to do things like that very often.
I am hoping that the new toddlers arrive when your are there. Sad that they are taken from their families so young-but a blessing to go to a place like OE.
Still thinking of you on the city bus. Look forward to your blog tonight (and chatting) and counting the days until we ride the bus. Love you, Dad

you could send some rain, we have had showers all around us the last week but no water here.the farmers at the market say they are having to irrigate or flood feels in an effort to save the crops.

i'm trying to get into the 21st century.

e
I hesitate to make this a public comment - for fear you or daddy will "get me back" by embarassing me publically - but I was reading daddy's comment about the OE cows being on the discovery channel or "you tube" and I had to laugh - because I remember when daddy made you watch those old country music stars on you tube - and you told me that you were going to change your facebook status to "Oh my goodness... I just caught my dad surfing "You Tube" - funny funny - but now I will live in slight fear - because you told me a couple of times that you were going to put things I said as FB quotes - just go light on the humiliation. Love you - I hope you had a GREAT time in the big city of Teguc - but boy you had me worried all day long.
