Me gusta Domingos!

Today was fabulous! Church is always great here at Orphanage Emmanuel. This morning it started at 8:50. It is always amazing to see all the children worshipping. Most of the staff and volunteers here at Emmanuel eat lunch at the restaurant. Today we had fried chicken, yellow rice, mashed potatoes, and fresh tortillas. It was so, so good. Rudi, one of the cutest kids ever, went to the clinic yesterday. Of course he had a torsolo, but he also decided to put a rock in his ear. Who knows why? Rudi is a mess, and definitely a favorite around here. I found out today, that a few of the kids in Poppy's yard are no longer here. They decided to get together and steal four thousand limparas from Poppy. They are now in a Christian, juvenile detention. Only one kid got to come back to the orphanage. He got to come back because he was the only one who truly apologized to Poppy, and also because he is eighteen, and would have been tried as an adult. Adult prisons here are pretty much all filled with gangs and he would have been killed. Sundays are volunteers day off. Most of the time we play with kids, but I am still catching up on sleep. I took a great two-hour nap. It was probably one of the best naps ever. I went to sleep at about 8:15 last night. I took a sleeping pill, which worked until about 3 a.m. I still haven't been able to sleep great at night since I have been here. Tomorrow I think I am going to town to get a few things. Thanks so much for all of the comments and emails. I love reading them. I love you all!

Here is the link for a few more pictures. You have already seen the first few, the new ones are towards the end of the album.

Oh - I was so excited to see that you have a new blog posted. The pictures are so great. The one of you and Michell is fantastic and I can't believe Oscar is getting so tall. Wilmer too! Poppy and Mommy are probably the most incredible people I know. Poor Rudy - more torsolo's - I think I see one of Mrs. Kim's kiddos in the picture - Armando - right. Did you help with the rock and torsolo removal. Who is the cutie pie eating ice cream - is that poppy with her? I was going to ask about your personal pharmacy and whether or not you have had to use any of your supply, but you answered that question. Thank goodness for tylenol P.M. Your sleep will get worked out. I know that you took crossword puzzels - but did you carry any good books? Dad and Davis went to see Indiana Jones. He came home telling me about the big ant hill and the ants. The restaurant sounds great and I know how much you LOVE fried chicken. Incredible that you had the best nap ever. I could be a little jealous of that. I bet you are not really missing your cell phone are you? Do you feel completely relaxed yet? What are you going to get in town - A Machete????? HA - Who is going with you. I know you don't worry about things like I do - but BE careful - take big bad Dunia or Marisol with you. Watch out for the big bulls in the streets too! I love you!!

Hey Hope. Aren't days off great? Of course it's Monday now and you're back at work already...oh well.
Isn't mercy great too? How good of poppy to let that boy off the hook like that. Wow. Hopefully he learned a big lesson and won't do it again. I don't envy you being so far south of the border during rainy season. When I first got to Jamaica (right after the War of Northern Aggression, but I can still remember ...) it was rainy season and I thought I wouldn't survive it. 2000% humidity. Yuck. Take care. We'll be reading your blog.
Love you!

Hye Hope, it's Katelyn and Cis. Guess what we're doing today! CLEANING MY ROOM! haha, don't you wish you were here? Davis hit the ball last night; i thought i might pee myself. He almost made it to first base, but either way they won the game so we will be seeing another play off game tonight :P Stephens team lost, but the Whites seemed a bit happy to not have to return to the smell of mud and cheesy fries at the feild again this year. We all went to Tino's and boy did Luis miss you. He was really sorry he couldn't come to your party. I gave him your email and blog. I start working tommorow and am quite anxious. Cis wants me to tell yuo that prissy is fine. the dogs smell as always and the Bock's and I are worried chandler might be sick. You haven't sent me a shopping list for you, so will you get Dunia, Michelle, and Marisol to send a list of things they might enjoy? Ankies at the salvation army :p he is there as we speak (or i type.) We love yuo bunches! peace, love, and pawprints. -Cis and Katsie-
