Pizza Parties
This morning started with breakfast. Two, peanut butter tortillas and a granola bar. It is my usual breakfast. Toddler duty his morning was interesting. There are two of the kids that are quite the handful. Erika has to "go" to the bathroom every fifteen minutes. She plays most of the time, but if we don't take her, when she has to go, she will wet her pants. Memo doesn't not want to walk anywhere and wants to be held all the time. We make him walk, which he does not like at all. He will just stop and sit down and refuse to move. I had to get Marisol to come and talk to him today. She whispered something in his ear and he got up right away and started to walk. Way to go Marisol!I had to work the internet cafe this afternoon and had no customers for the total two and a half hours. Dunia came and hung-out with me for a little bit and she made me a fabulous tortilla. They are especially great when they are hot. We had a pizza party for the first place winners of the talent show. They had a blast, and had five pieces of pizza each, lemonade, and ice cream. Tonight, the Skinner family had a ice cream and pizza party for the volunteers. It was really nice, and it was great to have ice cream. The pizza was made by Katie's restaurant, and included just about everything. It was really good. I have heard that there is an ant-eater at the orphanage and that Armando and he had a little incident. I have not seen him yet. There are also these little clear lizards around the orphanage that make this weird noise. We have enormous bull frogs on our back patio, the two biggest ones are named Ronald and Henrietta. The kids tried to feed them Cheerios tonight, but they didn't like them too much. As we were eating dinner on the patio, a huge herd of cows came through. People in town let them roam around the orphanage at night because there is grass here, and because they know we will not kill them. Most people in town who would find them would kill them. The people only find their cows when they are ready for some food. It has been very cloudy here all day, but is hasn't rained yet. It was starting to get windy at dinner, though. Tomorrow for toddler duty we are taking them to the farm, and hopefully we will get to see the baby pigs. I also have to pass out some gifts to kids from sponsors. The orphanage is expecting a container shipment in the next few days, so we are trying to get the gifts we have now passed out to kids, before the next container when we get more. It will definitely be a busy next few days, especially when the container comes in and we have to start unloading and putting it up in the storage warehouse. I love and miss you all!

Memo sounds a little bit lime me at that age--real spunky and hard to manage. Can't wait to meet him.
Are most of the volunteers gone (so nobody was at the internet cafe?)
I know Anna Rebecca must be getting sad about leaving, and I know you will miss her very much. Glad she could be in Honduras with her! Please wish her safe journey home for us.
All of these tortillas sound great! I don't remember eating that many last year. You will have to make me a great one (and show me how a true Honduran tortilla is made)!
So Pizza twice in one day? I don't know the Skinners, but it was nice of them to throw you a party. I bet the ice cream did taste good! Everything on the pizza in Honduras must really mean everything!
You will have to tell more about about the ant-eater incident!
Eating dinner on the patio sounds like a resort! But, I know better. Still, I'll bet it is real nice.
So, tomorrow maybe some baby pig pictures. Hope you have a great time!
Anyway, love you and can't wait to see you...Dad
This was an especially good post today - almost sounds like words you would put on a travel brochure - except for the part about the wetting pants and strong-willed toddlers - that kind of sounds like a day in the life of.....ME!! - that darned Marisol - do you think she would want a job at the day care - we could call her "Marisol - The Toddler Whisperer" - but she wouldn't get it though would she.....?
Not to bad to work in the internet cafe - have no customers - get to hang out with Dunia - one of your favorite people in the whole world and have her cook scumptious food for you while you slaved away at your not so hard job!!! -
Are the Skinners the family from Georgia?
Anteaters - clear lizards that make weird sounds and herds of grazing cows - now I am thinking you really are starring in an episode of the "Twilight Zone" If you would have said that Henrietta and Ronald the huge bullfrogs - actually ate cherrios - then I would have know - that all was definately not well in Honduras. You should help the kids with a few more creative names - am I right in thinking that there is a cow named Henrietta and also a Frog - and Ronald - where oh where did that one come from.
I know another container will be leaving Auburn this week - I bet it fun for you to deliver gifts and prepare to organize all the new things that will arrive soon. Mrs. Sophia - got about 5 or 6 huge bags of things to send. Will you help the children write their thank you notes too.
Here's some "BABY PIGS ON WEDNESDAY " wishes for you - but don't forget what I said about the pigs - enjoy them while you are there.
